HBO published short but intense clip Last of usthe long-awaited series inspired by the Naughty Dog video game, which will release sometime in 2023 – almost three years after its original announcement.
Series history closely follows the original video game’s narrative. No refocusing. A decision that, in a sense, reflects Naughty Dog’s good work in the narrative plane of this video game.
Last of us tells the story of smuggler Joel and Ellie, a 13-year-old girl. Both US pandemic survivors. Disease caused by a fungus cordycepsturns those who become infected with it into aggressive and cannibalistic creatures.
In a short preview you can see Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Although they do not appear, the series also features Gabrielle Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Ashley Johnson, and Nick Offerman.
