Starting October 1, Apple is replacing a new 18-digit part number format for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and more. Apple has already warned service centers about the use.

Now the company uses serial numbers consisting of 17 characters. The new format will probably only contain details for new products that have not yet met.
