The distribution date on the streaming platform was recently announced Netflix from the feature film The Munstersdirected by Rob Zombie. The movie will be released on September 27. The announcement comes after about a month ago, the same filmmaker announced that The Munsters would be released in the fall.

The new The Munsters will be the adaptation of the 1960s horror comedy of the same name. Universal 1440 Entertainment is the division that handles the direct-to-video distribution of Universal projects, so the film may not be released in theaters.

This is a project that Rob Zombie takes special care of, as the filmmaker has been planning to make this adaptation for twenty years.

The Munsters stars Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster.

The cast of Munsters also includes Richard Brake (31.3 from Hell) as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, and Catherine Schell (“Space: 1999,” The Return of the Pink Panther) as Zoya Krupp. Dee Wallace, Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson and Jorge Garcia are the other cast members, along with the actors who were part of the original show, namely Butch Patrick and Pat Priest.
