Here are trailers and posters of the new series co-written and directed by Michael Winterbottom, the highly anticipated This England, Sky Original novelty in six episodes starring Academy Award and Bafta Award winner Kenneth Branagh as Boris Johnson, told in the British Prime Minister’s tumultuous early months. The series, whose teaser trailer is released today, will be available exclusively on Sky from September 23, and will not stream until NOW, when all episodes will be available immediately.
This England (formerly known as This Sceptred Isle) will describe the impact the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic had on the UK. The miniseries takes viewers through the corridors of power, with Johnson grappling with Covid-19, Brexit and a controversial political and personal life.
Political events will intertwine with stories from across the country, from experts and scientists fighting to understand how the virus is transmitted, to doctors, nurses and nursing home workers on the front lines managing and overcoming the emergency, to ordinary people whose lives has been thrown into chaos by the pandemic.
