The 74th edition of the Emmy Awards is already on the books, after a tight three-hour broadcast on NBC (the American network with the rights), with many repeat winners and some surprises.
Ted Lasso from Apple TV+, hosted by Kenan Thompson, won the Best Comedy Series award for the second year in a row. HBO Max’s The White Lotus took home the best limited series award and HBO’s Succession for Best drama series.
Before, Lee Jung-jae, star of Netflix’s Squidward Game, has become the first Asian actor to win the award for lead actor in a drama.; Zendaya, star of HBO’s Euphoria, has become the youngest Emmy winner in history. You have many of these at Movistar.
Hacks star Jean Smart won the award for best actress in a comedy for the HBO Max series. and Ted Lasso’s Jason Sudeikis again won the award for best comedy actor.
White Lotus actress Jennifer Coolidge won as a supporting actress in a critically acclaimed minimalist drama. As for the players, praise went to Michael Keaton for Hulu’s Dopesick and again to Murray Bartlett for his supporting role for The White Lotus.
Matthew Macfadyen was honored for his supporting role in Succession, for which he was nominated in 2020.. Julia Garner later received the award for her role as Ruth Langmore in the final season of Ozark, which airs on Netflix.
As for the players, Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein won the second consecutive year, making him the first consecutive winner of the award since 2007.. We met with the list of candidates in July.
Hwang Dong-hyuk of The Squidward Game became the first director in history to win a non-English speaking drama. (as well as being the first Asian director to win the award).
