MTV today announced the nominations for the MTV EMAs 2022, with Harry Styles leading the group of artists with seven nominations, including ‘Best Artist’, ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Video’. Taylor Swift follows immediately after with six nominations, including Best Artist, Best Pop and the new EMA category Best Longform Video. Close the circle of top artists Nicki Minaj and ROSALÍA, both with five nominations, including ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Artist’.
This edition will see 17 new artists nominated for the first time, including Chencho Corleone, GAYLE and Stephen Sanchez, and the first-ever nomination for Dove Cameron, Doechii, Baby Keem, Kim Petras, Mae Muller, Saucy Santana, Shenseea, Summer Walker, Wet Been.
The “MTV EMAs” 2022 will take place in Düsseldorf at the PSD Bank Dome, bringing this annual and global celebration of music to Germany for the sixth time. The “EMAs” are broadcast live on MTV in more than 170 countries around the world. In Italy, the live event will be broadcast on Sunday, November 13 from 8 p.m. with the Pre Show and from 9 p.m. with the Live Show on MTV (Sky channel 131 and streaming on NU) and VH1 (channel 167 DTT, 22 Tivùsat and Sky channel 715) with commentary in Italian and on MTV Music (Sky channels 132 and 704) in the original language. The show will also be simulcast on Comedy Central (channel 129 Sky and streaming on NU) from 9 p.m. In addition, the event special will also be available on Paramount+, Paramount’s new streaming service, starting Monday, November 14 On Demand. And again, Pluto TV will be lighting up an EMAs-themed pop-up channel in the three days leading up to the event, which will take turns broadcasting the best musical events from the past 12 months (2020 EMAs, MTV Movie & TV awards 2022, VMAs 2022, MIAWS 2022, Isle of Malta 2022, as well as the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London and some MTV Unplugged).
Starting today, fans can vote for their favorite artists in 17 gender-neutral categories, including “Best Song,” “Best Artist,” “Best Collaboration” and the two new categories “Best Feature-length Video” and “Best Metaverse Performance.” On the website www.mtvema.com until midnight on November 9.

Also this year, the fifth nominee was chosen by the MTV fanbase via a vote on the Instagram Stories of the official MTV Italia profile. Fans have been able to choose the Wild Card from Ariete, M¥SS KETA, La Represented Di Lista, Rhove and Tananai and have named Ariete the fifth nomination for the Best Italian Act category.
Harry Styles (UK & Ireland), Taylor Swift (USA), ROSALÍA (Spain) and Badmómzjay (Germany) are among the nominated artists in the “Best Local Act” category in their respective countries of origin.
