Now that the development of a live-action film has been announced on Weapons of Warthe creator of the video game saga, Cliff Bleszinskiche had his say on who he would like to see in the project, and came up with the name of Dave Bautista.

Marcus Fenix is the main character of the franchise, and upon seeing this image, the resemblance to Dave Bautista is there. Fenix is a COG army sergeant, a war hero adorned with the star of Embry, a former prisoner turned soldier.
After all, Bautista has already created the action character in productions such as The Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune and in Army of the Dead and became a much sought-after interpreter in these types of projects. And the partnership with Netflix and Bautista is more than solid, given his presence in Army of the Dead and his participation in the project in the development of Unleashed.
With Gears of War, the streaming platform will provide both the development of an animated series for adults and a real live-action. The player takes on the role of Marcus Fenix, a former prisoner turned soldier. The other main character is Dominic Santiago (Dom). The two soldiers join Delta Squad and fight The Locust Horde.
