We’ve seen (or rather heard) play the character of in the original language. King Shark in The suicide squadAnd Sylvester Stallone has expressed more than interest in returning to the DC Comics character in new projects from DC studios.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, the actor said:
James Gunn is a very generous person and we are very good friends. If there’s a chance I’m more than interested in coming back because he’s great.
In describing the character of King Shark, James Gunn himself some time ago pointed out the difficulty of working on such a character.
I can say Rocket was hard to make because we had to give it to an animal – he said – but something like that is five times harder with a shark. Really painstaking work had to be done. Then King Shark is a very different character from Groot and Rocket, as they are good characters, while he is a fish and eats people. He has no particular love for people, but he wants to belong to them and he wants to prove that he is intelligent, even if he is not.
The character of King Shark first appeared in DC Comics in Superboy #9, in 1994. Born in Hawaii, Nanaue is a humanoid shark, and between stories he also had a confrontation with Aquaman in the saga Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis.
Last month, Panini Comics published the book Suicide Squad Presents: King Shark, in which the character is the first protagonist of his own series, in which he is drawn into a mystical tournament of totemic animals at the behest of the god of sharks. This is the cover of the bundle.
