The Ministry of Finance proposed approving a special list of areas with preferential tax treatment. The draft order was published on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
The list includes the United Arab Emirates, Monaco, the special region of China, Macau, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Panama and other territories. The document must come into effect on January 1, 2024 and apply during the 2024 – 2026 tax periods.
At the end of the first half of 2023, 87 companies changed their registration from foreign offshore companies to Russian offshore companies. The interest in moving companies to Russian offshore areas is due to the difficulties of working with “hostile” countries and the restrictions that apply to foreigners in Russia.
In December, Yandex completed the registration process on the “Russian offshore”. MCAO “Yandex” received registration in the Special Administrative Region on Oktyabrsky Island in the Kaliningrad Region.
