One of the recent topics of discussion in Marvel Cinematic Universe the role they will have lightning. This group of anti-heroes and superheroes will appear in the franchise in 2024. Its formation – or at least part of it – has been confirmed. However, it remains unclear what role they will play in the narrative. In this sense, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever offered some hints.
None of the characters that make up lightning appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Except for one Countess Valentine Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who will lead the group. This character first appeared in Falcon and Winter Soldiera series that also featured two characters who would be part of this alliance.
Analysis screen tirade, written by Mark Donaldson, provides some insight into the future of the Thunderbolts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This he did from a series of references taken from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Based on these ideas, the main difference between the “Thunderbolts” and “Avengers” will be noted. We see it.
Avengers and Thunderbolts: the main difference between the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Nick Fury led the formation Avengers. A group created to carry out those missions that ordinary people cannot cope with. The range of its action was not limited to a specific territory. They operated in New York as they did in Sokovia, or outside the traditional boundaries, to the point of traveling to other planets. For their part, the Thunderbolts would not have had such liberties.
According to Donaldson, this group will be in the interests of the United States, not the United Nations. This interpretation is made from the proximity of Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine with this state. The author in this opposition exercise describes seeing Nick Fury as an idealist in relation to superheroes. While Allegra de Fontaine is more pragmatic.
AT Black Panther: Wakanda Forever the idea is laid that different world powers are behind vibranium which is found both in Wakanda and at the bottom of the sea. In this context, having a team of superheroes and antiheroes can be of key importance in carrying out various missions or influencing the geopolitics of other countries in the interests of the United States.
The Thunderbolts tradition in the comics suggests that they will have conflicting and dark missions in the film franchise. Although they could not be defined as villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe adaptation, they are a series of characters who have gone through difficult stages in their journey as characters. Therefore, there is a possibility that some of these characters will experience some sort of redemption in one of this group’s missions.
Formation
In the comics, the Thunderbolts are characterized by an alignment where most members are villains or anti-heroes. Unlike an adaptation being considered for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the comics this group was founded and led by Baron Zemoa character who is not eliminated from the franchise: he reappeared in Falcon and Winter Soldier.
The first alignment that formed this group was the following:
- Atlas (Goliath)
- MACH-I (Abner Jenkins)
- Citizen V (Helmut Zemo)
- Meteorite (Moonstone)
- Songbird (Mimi Howler)
- Techno (fixers)
Instead, as announced for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the formation of the Thunderbolts in the franchise would be:
- US agent (Wyatt Russell)
- Red Guardian (David Harbour)
- Elena Belova (Florence Pugh)
- task master (Olga Kurilenko)
- Ghost (Hannah John Kamen)
- winter soldier (Sebastian Stan)
Premiere lightning scheduled for July 26, 2024. This is a production where characters from different productions will be combined to create their own story. One of which is yet to be revealed. But this, through films like Black Panther: Wakanda Foreveroffers some ideas for consideration.
