Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness left us open-mouthed for a few seconds when John Krasinski appeared as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic. Although all this happened in a parallel universe. His participation in the film sparked two parallel discussions. For some, this is confirmation that he will continue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, for many others, just the opposite is true.
John Krasinski has been rumored for years as Reed Richards. In fact, that was one of the reasons he was chosen for this brief role in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness. But his punctual appearance could be both the first and the last, according to the actor himself during an interview with Wrapper.
“We didn’t have any discussion. The only occasion was during the penultimate week of recording the third season. Jack Ryan. Kevin Feige called me and asked if I would go to Los Angeles and sign up for one day, he explained. “It was an honor for me. I flew in from Budapest when we finished filming and went straight to the set. Doctor Strange. I’m a big fan of this world, so it was quite exciting to play this character during the day.”
John Krasinski made a surprise appearance as a character variant and part of the Illuminati along with Professor X or Captain Carter. Also with a variant of Captain Marvel in which it is Maria Rambeau, not Carol Danvers, who absorbs the energy resulting from the explosion of the plane’s engine in which she has an accident that gives her powers. “It was crazy to be in the same place with all these people,” referring to Patrick Stewart, Hayley Atwell, Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Lasagna Lynch and Anson Mount. “But yeah, turning into spaghetti was not what I had in mind when I imagined myself in the Marvel Universe. But it was a lot of fun.”
John Krasinski is most likely not Reed Richards Fantastic Four
The truth is that John Krasinski likely won’t play Reed Richards in Fantastic Four. On the doctor’s commentary track Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madnessSam Raimi explains that the idea has always been for the actor to only appear once. “It’s funny that Kevin Feige agreed to bring the actor because it was the dream of so many fans. And since it was a parallel universe, I think Kevin said let’s do it.”
So, most likely, another actor plays Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four movie. Directed by Matt ShakmanScarlet Witch and Vision) and will be released in February 2025.
John Krasinski, for his part, has had a pretty busy few months. I am participating in imaginary friends with Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell. This will also be repeated in the third season. Jack Ryan which will premiere on December 21 on Amazon Prime Video.
