After previewing at the 78th Venice International Film Festival – Orizzonti Competition, Laura Bispuri’s third feature film will hit theaters on June 16, featuring Nexo Digital, The peacock’s paradise: here’s the trailer and official photos.

Director Laura Bispuri explains:
There are movies that you look for for years and others that suddenly come into your life and surprise you. The peacock paradise is a small journey into the intimacy and authenticity of humans: a film about an extended family in which everyone talks to each other but no one really listens. Until an unexpected event forces the protagonists to look each other in the eye and show who they are. And it is as if their lives suddenly became ours, in a mirror of feelings that makes us reflect on the complexity of human relationships, on the mystery of loss, on the thousand voices that speak to us from within, on the importance of silence, on our constant search for love.
The story is set on a winter day when Nena (Domenique Sanda) gathers the family to celebrate her birthday. Everyone is there: her husband Umberto (Carlo Cerciello), the children Vito (Leonardo Lidi) and Caterina (Maya Sansa) with their niece Isabella (Yile Yara Vianello), the daughter-in-law Adelina (Alba Rohrwacher) and the ex-son-in-law Manfredi (Fabrizio Ferracane) with his new girlfriend Joana (Tihana Lazović), his niece Alma (Carolina Michelangeli), the maid Lucia (Maddalena Crippa) with her daughter Grazia (Ludovica Alvazzi Del Frate). And then there’s Paco, Alma’s peacock. While waiting for a lunch that will never come, Paco falls in love with a pigeon painted in a painting. An impossible love that questions the whole family, called to reflect on the truth of their feelings and the deep meaning of what remains and what disappears forever.
Produced by Vivo Film with Rai Cinema and Match Factory Productions, with the support of MiC-Directorate General Cinema and Audiovisual, Lazio Region and Film und Medien Stiftung NRW, Il Paradiso del Pavone counts among its interpreters Dominique Sanda, Alba Rohrwacher, Maya Sansa , Carlo Cerciello, Fabrizio Ferracane, Leonardo Lidi, Tihana Lazović, Yile Yara Vianello, Ludovica Alvazzi Del Frate, Carolina Michelangeli and sees the participation of Maddalena Crippa. She will be directed by award-winning Laura Bispuri, former director of Vergine jurata and Figlia Mia.
