The DC Extended Universe will be rebooted in just over two and a half months. It will happen through Flash, one of the most anticipated films in the franchise. At the same time one of the most controversial due to personal inconvenience Ezra Millerthat seem to be part of the past. In this sense, it is necessary to examine the figure of a character that could appear in the story: dark flash.
In mid-February, Warner Bros. Discovery has shared the latest trailer Flash. There are two versions of Barry Allen in this promotion, both played by Ezra Miller, and driven by the same factor: the relationship with his mother. One of these versions is sent to another time to try to find out what happened to her. That’s when they cross paths and decide to go on tour. Result? Breaking the lines of time.
It should be remembered that the Flash’s ability is so great that he can travel through time. That is why he uses it to go to a key moment in his life in another reality. The paradox in his case is that this very ability at some point turns against him: in DC mythology, only another character can hunt speedsters. This is known as Dark Flash or Black Flash.
Dark Flash: a possible villain in Flash
This figure has various depictions in the comics. Therefore, it is not easy to indicate which of them may appear in Flash. As noted in best comics, every speedster needs his own version of death. Otherwise, the traditional version would be almost impossible to track them down. However, according to the comics, one of its main representatives is named after Walter West.

Making a symbolic interpretation, this Dark Flash embodied by Walter West represents death for what happened in his past. Following this logic, one could assume that the displacement of one by the other is death chasing another sprinter, considered more in a metaphorical than in a literal sense. Can this be portrayed in a film?
If it does, then most likely Dark Flash’s version Flash be a free interpretation. While some toys featuring the character have been leaked online, no concrete details have yet been released in trailers for the film. Therefore, perhaps part of the narrative arc of Wally and Walter West will be taken as the basis for the introduction of an antagonistic figure.
This would make sense given that Barry Allen’s versions in their own way present a story similar to that of Wally and Walter West. From what’s in the trailer Flashthe only villain that can be clearly identified is General Zod (Michael Shannon). But this is from a different time in the DC Extended Universe. So one question remains open: Will there be an enemy directly linked to the Flash?
