Research: More than half of Russians have encountered scammers on the Internet. Most of them are women, 25% lost up to 500 thousand rubles. Very often, people fall for deception when offering financial services.

60% of Russians fell into the traps of scammers on the Internet. This is stated in the results of a study by the international educational platform Defin.
More than half of them are women (61%). One in three cases of deception is associated with telephone fraud disguised as banks or financial institutions (31%). 16% of respondents suffered transfers to dubious organizations or bloggers.
Every fourth respondent who succumbed to tricks lost 100-500 thousand rubles. The share of respondents who lost more than 500 thousand rubles is 21%.
The study was conducted based on a survey of 3.5 thousand respondents aged 18 to 65 throughout Russia.
