The story of a pivotal moment in the history of our country, of a generation, of a family, of a man: outside night, the work of Marco Bellocchio with Fabrizio Gifuni in the role of Aldo Moro, hits theaters today with the first of its two parts. We present the double trailer and the photos of the diptych, just presented at the Cannes Film Festival, in the Premiere section.

The cast of the film also includes Margherita Buy and Toni Servillo: the second part of the work will be in the theater from 9 June

Synopsis of the movie:
1978. Italy is torn by civil war. On the one hand, the Red Brigades, the most important of the far-left armed organizations, on the other, the State. Street violence, kidnappings, gambling, gunfights, attacks. A Communist Party (PCI)-backed government is poised to establish itself for the first time in a Western country in a pioneering alliance with the nation’s historic conservative stronghold, the Christian Democrats (DC). Aldo Moro, the president of the DC, is the main proponent of this agreement, which marks a decisive step in mutual recognition between the two main parties in Italy. On the day of the inauguration of the government he managed to build with his political skills, on March 16, 1978, on the road that leads him to parliament, Aldo Moro is kidnapped in an ambush that destroys his entire stock.
It is a direct attack on the heart of the state. His captivity will last fifty-five days, punctuated by Moro’s letters and by the Red Brigades’ communiqués: fifty-five days of hope, fear, negotiations, failures, good intentions and evil deeds. After fifty-five days, his body will be left in a car in the heart of Rome, exactly halfway between the DC and PCI headquarters.
