The report was not from the Police or Prosecutor’s Office. But local officials knew that what was officially announced at 4:35 pm on Thursday 29 June in the luxury sector of Villa Campestre in Porto Colombia was the notification that a war was imminent between criminal organizations.
Just then, a hitman supposedly killed three members of the Vega clan with rifle shots, leaving his underage mother, Roberto Carlos (Maili Daza), alive.

The operation included several weeks of intelligence, drone surveillance and the arsenal entering a neighboring property, hiding in portable refrigerators, and being carried away by hitmen disguising themselves as workers.
According to relatives, although Vegas is accumulating power and gunmen (bodyguards), they began to roam the Barranquilla metropolitan area, making sure they were being followed to assassinate them.
Roberto Carlos Vega, one of the survivors of Thursday’s massacre, Álvaro Ospino’s relative, known by the pseudonym la Negra Dominga, participated in the ‘narcofiesta’ in October 2022, when Jonathan Ospino was murdered.

That day he locked himself in his armored truck and although the police detained him miles later, the local prosecutor’s office released him. A skilled lawyer arrived after he and his bodyguard were safely transported the guns he was carrying.

However, they had been located for a month; and his killers rented a restaurant next to the residential complex Where Vegas sleeps. Paying 9 million pesos rent for the building is one of the steps followed.
There are also videos of men disguised as workers entering portable refrigerators with rifles and smashing grenades.
The plot to assassinate Vegas was executed to the millimeter. That’s why investigators are confident that leaving Roberto Carlos and his mother alive was not a mistake.

“It is possible for them to request delivery of goods and money,” said a knowledgeable source who confirmed the matter. Roberto Carlos was reportedly injured in his left leg and is still in custody..
The information has alarmed the authorities and a coup awaits this massacre, just like in ‘narcofiesta’.
