It is available from today Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, the new game set from Magic: the meeting. Building on the Legends of Commander of 2020, Battle for Baldur’s Gate further expands and innovates the Limited format by integrating the characters and immersive mechanics of the popular RPG Dungeons and Dragons (D&D).

The kit contains: 361 cards and will be available in Draft Packs, Expansion Packs and Collector Booster, as well as Commander Decks, Prerelease Packs and a special bundle with a large D20.

True to the story of Baldur’s Gate, this new set sees the return of the Rulebook frames. Each Legendary Orphan Card features a frame that reflects the graphical aspect of the Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual, evoking the classic rulebook aesthetic so beloved by fans of the famed board game.

Featuring iconic D&D characters such as Tasha the Witch Queen, Elminster and the famous duo of Minsc and Boo, Battle for Baldur’s Gate offers players a tale of power and intrigue to battle with their friends in the popular Magic multiplayer format.

The latest chapter of Commander Legends gives players more freedom than ever to create their own story down to the smallest detail. With a set specifically designed for drafting, Battle for Baldur’s Gate breaks the traditional commander’s Singleton rule and allows you to include two or more copies of the same card in a single deck.

Some RPG elements from D&D are also present in Wallpapers, a new type of spell. The Legendary Backgrounds cards represent the story that brought your Commander to where we find him now, and each of these gives him a bonus. Often this bonus comes in the form of an ability your Commander acquires or an increase in his strength and/or toughness.
