Creative director Tetsuya Nomura and producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed in an interview with Famitsu’s Microphones that they initially had the idea of a Split Final Fantasy VII Remake Into Two Parts and not three. Nomura and Kitase have indicated that in the past they chose not to give precise indications as to how many parts they would make, precisely because they weren’t sure yet that the trilogy’s path was the right choice.

The reason we didn’t immediately announce how many parts there would be is because we were still deciding whether to make a trilogy or a two-part series,” said Nomura. Originally I was planning on making a trilogy, but Yoshinori Kitase suggested before there was the option of making just two parts.

Kitase went on to add that things only became clear after work on part 1 was done. And at that moment he thought that maybe an option to come to an end in the third chapter, Nomura then specified that the project it will not be expanded further and that the third chapter will be enough to tell the epilogue of the new version of Final Fantasy VII. He also made sure no elements of the original game would be cut out.

We remind you that it was presented recently Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second installment of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Rebirth will arrive in the late 2023 and early 2024.
