Sony has announced the creation of a division dedicated to the mobile sector called PlayStation Studios mobile division. The announcement coincided with the acquisition of Savage Game Studios, a mobile developer with offices in Finland and Germany.

The new PlayStation Mobile division will operate independently from the console development sector and will focus on delivering mobile experiences based on both new IPs and existing Sony IPs – said Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios.

Sony therefore underlines in the message published on the pages of the PlayStation Blog that the new division will be completely independent of the others. He will still work on the company’s intellectual property, but will focus solely on the mobile sector.

Finally, announcing the creation of the new division dedicated to mobile gaming, Sony wanted to reiterate its intention to further expand its audience thanks to these new initiatives: “Our mobile gaming initiatives – writes the Japanese giant – will be another way to engage more people with our content and reach a new audience that is not familiar with PlayStation and our games.”

  • We will be expanding our community with Savage Game Studios (blog.it.playstation.com)
