Speaking of the Giganotosaurus that will appear in Jurassic World: Dominion, director Colin Trevorrow said:
I wanted something a bit like the Joker. A being who wanted to see the world burn.
The real Giganotosaurus lived in what is now known as Argentina, and lived in the late Cretaceous Period, between 99 and 97 million years ago. It is one of the largest terrestrial carnivores ever to appear.
The Jurassic World Dominion story takes place four years after the events leading up to the destruction of the island of Nublar. Dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans, but this fragile balance is rewriting the future and determining whether humans will remain at the top of the predatory chain or whether the dinosaurs will take over.
In addition to Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, the film will also star in the first trilogy, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neil.
Jurassic World: Dominion will hit theaters on June 10, 2022.
