Fausto Brizzi returns to the set with As adultsreboot of the 80s cult comedy Later when I’m bigger, with Renato Pozzetto. Unlike the film, it is inspired by – directed by Franco Amurri who this time draws the screenplay with Brizzi – now there are four children who want to grow up.

Marco, Tato, Serena and Leo are 9 years old and are inseparable friends ready to defend themselves against their classmates. All four feel neglected by their family: Marco’s parents forget his birthday, confuse the cake and the present, humiliate him for the unresolved bedwetting problem and force him to take care of his little sister Silvia. Tato lives with her single mother, constantly looking for the love of her life. Serena just doesn’t understand her father’s insistence that she wants her to be a tennis champion and not a tireless snacker. And then there’s Leo, beloved by his grandparents who raise him brilliantly instead of his beloved parents who disappeared in India. On the evening of Marco’s birthday, they blow out the candle together and unwittingly express the same desire: to grow up. The time of a night and here they are magical peers of their parents, but with the typical behavior and thoughts of children. Thus begins a series of fun adventures and unexpected events that will make them compete with everyday life: a place to live and find a job. Will Marco be able to conquer the woman of his life, the irresistible teacher Francesca… is everything as they imagined? Only time will give them, little adults, the answers they seek.
