Roskomnadzor may have the right to block advisory services. The corresponding bill is being discussed in the State Duma; in the first version of the document, it was proposed to provide such an opportunity only to the users themselves.
Roskomnadzor may obtain the right to block advisory services. Vedomosti writes about this, citing sources familiar with the new version of the bill on the regulation of the work of advisory services.
An earlier version of the bill, which is being discussed in the State Duma, assumed that only users themselves would have the right to disable recommendation services. Now it is proposed to give that opportunity to the state regulator.
Companies that use algorithms to create recommendation services will have to report the principles of their work to Roskomnadzor, which, in turn, will be able to access the servers hosting IT systems with recommendation algorithms, said one of the newspaper’s interlocutors.
Many IT companies use recommendation services, in Russia the largest are Yandex and VK.
