Now the US and China are planning new moon missions. China has talked about the possibility of implementing the flight option by 2030, but has not officially confirmed this until recently.
Experts noted that China has accelerated its space program in recent years, completing the space station at the end of 2022 and then sending astronauts there. In addition, Beijing plans to set up a research station per month.
Recall that a recent Pentagon report for 2022 warned of China’s potential long-term superiority over the United States in space.
