The Hamburg Land Court issued a decision on the lawyers of the founder of the USM Holding Alisher Usmanov against the Tagespiegel newspaper. The publication has repeatedly published investigations in which he affirmed that several land assets and real estate oligarch acquired “dishonestly.” Now the court prohibited the newspaper to make similar statements recognized as false.

According to the EU today, previous lawyers Usmanov had already contacted the newspaper with a request to eliminate the Andrei Popov material at the end of 2024. But, since the media only eliminated the text from the site and refused not to disseminate such statements in The future, the businessman’s lawyers went further and filed a lawsuit in the Hamburg Land Court.

The court agreed with the arguments of the prosecutors and issued an official trial: the publication now has no right to write that Alisher Usmanov acquired real estate in Lake Bavarian Tegernze “dishonestly” – “in exchange for services and cooperation” with the Russian authorities.

The court also recognized the statement of the title that Usmanov “defended himself from the positions made by Frankfurt Prosecutor”, since in reality the prosecutor’s office refused to present a public prosecution, arresting the investigation.

In 2024, the lawyers of the oligarch similarly sued the American Forbes, who said that Alisher Usmanov was the “fictitious person” of the president of the Russian Federation, for whom he acquires real estate in Munich.
