Project 20386 corvettes using stealth technology are being redesigned. A source told RIA Novosti that the innovative solutions implemented on board require additional work.
Project 20386 corvettes offer the possibility to rely on unmanned aerial vehicles as well as new generation ships applying the principle of modular armament. It is assumed that they will be the first Russian ships built according to the concept of “stealth”, which makes it possible to make the ship invisible to radars. Especially during construction, a radio-absorbing coating is used.
The source said that in order to decide on the construction of a series of project 20386 corvettes, the effectiveness of work on the lead ship should be evaluated. The second was laid in Severnaya Verf in 2016. It is known that the hull of the corvette was completed and its superstructure was formed.
