The authorities have changed the working conditions of taxi drivers, they will not be able to drive more than 12 hours a day. The corresponding government decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The new rules will come into force on September 1, 2023, they apply to individual taxi drivers. As explained in the document, when working a 5/2 schedule, the driver must not drive more than eight hours a day, or 40 hours a week.
The sentence clarifies that if this rule cannot be observed, the working day can be accumulated.
In addition, the monthly rule must not be violated, the taxi driver must not be driving for more than 10 hours. However, if the driver needs to make a long trip, an excess of two hours is allowed.
Also, under the new rules, drivers must take a break five hours after starting work.
Earlier, the Ministry of Transport took the initiative to introduce the regulation of the working hours of taxi drivers. At the department’s suggestion, drivers should be prohibited from accepting orders on the aggregator after 12 hours of driving.
