Atomic Heart developer and Mundfish studio head Robert Bagratuni announced that he is working on a sequel to Atomic Heart 2, a first-person shooter set in an alternate Soviet reality. He talked about this in an interview with the comedian Garik Kharlamov on the program “By the way”.
Bagratuni emphasized that Atomic Heart 2 will have more RPG gameplay elements, and its game mechanics and features will be reminiscent of the popular Fallout series. He also expressed his satisfaction with the sale of the first game, noting that their development started with a small game based on personal experiences with VR games on PC.
Mundfish recently released a teaser trailer for a new story add-on for Atomic Heart. This teaser shows one of the places players can visit. Additionally, the developers have announced the full optimization of Atomic Heart for the Steam Deck portable console.
Representing an alternate version of the USSR, the shooter Atomic Heart was released on various platforms on February 21, 2023. Four add-ons are planned for the game, which will expand its world and add new stories.
