French aircraft maker Airbus is close to closing a deal with India’s largest airline, IndiGo. We are talking about a potentially record sale of 500 aircraft.
According to Reuters, citing industry sources, IndiGo is ready to buy 500 narrow-body A320 family aircraft. If the deal goes through, it will top an anticipated purchase by Air India, which placed an order for 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing in February this year.
According to the agency, IndiGo is already an important customer for the French aeronautical company with a large number of vehicles ordered.
In addition, according to the publication’s interlocutors, Airbus and Boeing are competing in negotiations for the sale of 25 wide-body aircraft from the same airline.
Earlier, the Federal Air Transport Agency reported that airlines from China, India and Belarus are leaders among foreign airlines in terms of growth of transit flights through Russian airspace.
