The specialist claims that the measured consumption of kvass (200-400 ml per day) will not harm a healthy body. But for those who suffer from certain diseases, it is better to refrain from drinking the drink. In extreme cases, significantly limit its amount.

Kvass is a fermentation product containing carbon dioxide. Medvedev explains that it can cause bloating, stomach upset, and even bouts of gastritis or ulcers in people with chronic digestive disorders.

The traditional kvass recipe contains sugar or honey, which is food for the yeast and is completely broken down during the fermentation process. Some manufacturers add additional sugar to improve the taste, which significantly increases the calorie content of the drink.

The calorie content of some varieties of kvass purchased in the store can reach 45-50 kcal per 100 milliliters.

The expert warned that added sugar could lead to obesity and tooth decay. Because sugar dissolved in drinks is especially dangerous. it is almost instantly absorbed into the blood, causing a sharp increase in glucose levels.
