MTS-Bank has launched a payment service that can be used to pay for goods and services abroad at trade and service companies via QR from any Russian bank. Tajikistan was the first to connect to the service. All payments are made without commission in Russian rubles, subject to conversion to somoni. This was reported to RB.RU in the press service of the company.

MTS-Bank launched a QR code payment service in Tajikistan

The service is available to customers of any Russian bank whose application has the ability to read a QR code.

Other banks in Tajikistan have already taken an interest in the service, integration is also being discussed with banks in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, Kirill Palchun, business leader in the direction of MTS Bank Money Transfer System, added to Kommersant.

The lawyers believe that the risks of secondary sanctions under such a scheme could arise if the currency of hostile countries were used in the payment chain.
