LEDs, developed by specialists from Mordovia State University, NP Ogarev and the Ardatov Lighting Engineering Plant managed to significantly increase the yield of vegetables in greenhouses. The new plant setup allows you to adjust the irradiation spectrum with LEDs at any time, adapting it to the needs of the plants.

Most phytoirradiators use a combination of the spectra of two monochrome LEDs – red and blue. The Russian development uses a combination of three monochrome LEDs of specific wavelengths – red, crimson and blue – and white LEDs. One of the developers, head of the lighting engineering department at Moscow State University, notes that, therefore, it is possible to provide a full spectrum of irradiation. N.P. The scientists emphasize that the LEDs operate in the power mode most suitable for them at a low enough temperature on the crystal. In the phytoinstallation they developed, it is possible to smoothly adjust the light of each LED module from 0% to 100% by changing the flowing current. This allows you to change the radiation ratio of LEDs of different brightness colors, thereby changing the total spectral composition of the installation radiation.
