Researchers from the University’s School of Biomedical Sciences partnered with One Dance UK, Yorkshire Dance and darts, a Doncaster charity, to launch the Dance On project. It turns out that even people over the age of 85 can benefit from regular dance lessons.

685 people attended the dance classes and they were over 55 (average age was 75). Dance lessons were held every week for 12 months.

Even for those over 85, dancing helps them be more physically active. The researchers also found that participants felt stronger, safer, and younger after dancing.
