Scientists from the Space Systems Company “Kometa” have proposed using a light sail to accelerate the spacecraft and deliver it to the nearest stars. They developed special quantum accelerators that could be placed in orbit with the ship. This new breakthrough in space technology allows you to explore interstellar space and reach distant star systems.

As planned by the scientists, the spacecraft is equipped with a light sail and modules with photodissociation quantum generators. The upper stage then increases the ship’s speed to the level required to exit the solar system (16.65 km/h).

The modules leave the ship after leaving the heliosphere (a region where the solar wind propagates at supersonic speed) and as it approaches interstellar space. At this point the light sail of the ship opens.

After that, the quantum generator modules are sequentially separated and begin to produce high-intensity laser radiation. When this radiation hits the light sail, the spacecraft gets the thrust it needs to fly to nearby stars.

This technology offers opportunities to explore interstellar space, nearby stars and their systems.
