On the eve of the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, consulting firm Yakov & Partners surveyed 126 CEOs of companies with an annual turnover of more than 5 billion rubles and found out how their business concerns and priorities have changed over the past six months. . from the previous survey.
Compared to December 2022, there are 2.5 times fewer business leaders who see deterioration in the work of their companies due to the economic situation: their share of the total number of respondents is 11%. And every second leader expects the situation to improve in the next six months.

Analyzing the subjective assessment of business leaders about the state of their companies, the study authors point out:
- The most optimistic about the state of affairs are representatives of retail and e-commerce (six months earlier, the answer “the situation has improved” was given by 46%, and now – 78%) and the mining industry and metallurgical (before 37%, now 48%),
- The deterioration of the situation was reported by the leaders of the chemical industry (six months earlier, the answer “the situation has worsened” was given by 25%, and now – 31%).
- Representatives of the technology, IT and banking sectors are also quite optimistic about their future in business and what analysts see as a reflection of the “import substitution trend”.
Foreign trade bans, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain disruptions remain top challenges for domestic business leaders.
And artificial intelligence can become one of the drivers of development for many: 63% of respondents are sure that in the next year AI will affect their companies in some way (this proportion is even higher among leaders in the banking sector). , technological and IT), and only 7% of entrepreneurs see a threat in AI.
