Experts from the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering have developed a new technology for creating gypsum concrete building materials. They are trying to replace imported polymer additives used in such materials. According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, this technology is intended for the production of structural and thermal insulation panels used in the construction of low-rise buildings.

The new technology makes it possible to create building mixes from ready-made dry components at the construction site. It is based on the use of gypsum binders obtained from production wastes containing calcium sulfate. A distinctive feature of this technology is that there is no need for polymer additives, which become expensive because they are predominantly imported. Instead, Russian components such as cement, ash and fibers, sand and brick scraps are used. Local chemical and mineral additives are also used. To improve the thermal insulation properties of gypsum concrete, porous chemicals, recycled gypsum raw materials and expanded polystyrene granules are added to the mix.

The production technology of gypsum building materials was recognized as the winner of the scientific research competition organized by the Moscow State Civil Engineering University as part of the Priority 2030 academic leadership program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. Lyubov Anikanova, Associate Professor of Construction Materials and Technologies at TSUAE Faculty of Civil Engineering, noted that the new technology allows the use of domestic components and has high thermal performance, thanks to the introduction of porous substances and secondary gypsum. Raw materials. This is an important step for the development of the construction industry and reducing the dependency on imported materials.
