Health psychology professor Jane Ogden has identified three ways your loved one can interfere with diet: sabotage, feeding, and collusion.

According to research, loved ones may sabotage their weight loss attempts because they fear the changes that will follow after the transformation. Feeding that seems caring and loving is also a form of sabotage.

Another method of negative social support is collusion with a person who is losing weight, in which a person is rewarded for violations of diet and training. As a result of such behaviors of loved ones, it becomes much more difficult to implement the goals set for those who want to lose excess weight.
