Paul McCartney, former member of one of the greatest pop/rock bands of all time, revealed that he used an Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create a new song for the band. In an interview with BBC Radio 4 last Tuesday (13), McCartney called the novelty “the last Beatles record” (the last Beatles song in translation).
The artist said AI technology helped him create the track in a variety of ways, including extracting John Lennon’s voice from an old demo and copying it. Recall that Lennon was shot dead in 1980.
“We just finished (the song) and it’s coming out this year,” McCartney said during the interview. The artist did not provide further details about the piece, which has not yet been named, but it is very likely that the song is “Now And Then” composed in 1978 by Lennon.
Beatles fans will remember that it was almost a “reunion song” in 1995, even after Lennon’s death. At the time, McCartney had received a demo from Yoko Ono, just one of many unfinished songs that John had composed just before he was killed. According to the BBC, the demo tapes had a label that read “For Paul”.
The Beatles were an English musical group formed in the city of Liverpool in the 1960s. The band had four members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. He soon established a resounding reputation, also known as the “Liverpool Boys”, and conquered the world with songs that remain in the minds of fans to this day.
