The European Commission may go to court over Google’s “dominant position” as early as Wednesday, as Google has not previously been able to convince the EU that it has no monopoly risks. And the latest decision has matured under the influence of the general situation: Google is present at all levels of digital online advertising delivery.

The investigation was launched in 2022 and now the regulatory authority has taken the case to court. One of the requirements for weakening Google’s dominance could be the sale of some of the company’s advertising technology.
