This Google Meet this Wednesday (27) is experiencing an instability that makes the service difficult to use. The issue began to be verified this afternoon and was verified by Google’s own system.

A quote from the Workspace status board states, “We are aware of an issue with the Google Meet service that affects a significant subset of users.” The English version adds: “the issue only affects the Google Meet live stream. Other Google Meet functionality is not affected” and “customers may see the message ‘Waiting to start broadcast, please wait…’”.

The page also explains that it will update information throughout the day.

To improve the situation, Google provided a workaround. The company announced that to access virtual meetings, users can “remove” the “stream” from the root of the URL. So, the link needs to change from that: “https://stream.meet.google.com/stream/xxxx” For this: “https://meet.google.com/stream/xxxx“, e.g.

[ATUALIZAÇÃO – 18H15]: Google reports that Meet meeting service is back to normal around 6pm [horário de Brasília]. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and support.”
