Students taking the Introduction to Computer Science (CS50) course will be able to use artificial intelligence to debug code, get feedback on their projects, and get answers to individual questions about errors and unclear lines in the code.
According to Harvard representatives, their goal is to provide individualized support to each CS50 student. That’s why the university wants to create an even 1:1 ratio between students and teachers.
Tools popular with programmers like ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot will be replaced by the “CS50 bot” developed within the walls of an educational institution. The bot will guide students to the correct answers instead of giving them directly.
Embedding generative AI in the classroom can be a powerful tool to improve the quality of learning and provide students with the personalized support they need to succeed at coding.
