1 trillion rubles have accumulated in the single tax account (UNS) – these are overpayments from previous years, as well as payments already made, which are still being audited or have not yet filed returns, Vedomosti learned.
The interlocutors of the newspaper explain that the companies contribute more funds for future payments for convenience, but they are not reflected in the budget execution reports.
Currently, 1.5 trillion rubles of such taxpayer funds have accumulated in the UNS, of which 500 billion rubles will soon be in the budget system, and 1 trillion rubles will be overpayments from previous years.
One of Vedomosti’s sources said that most overpayments accumulated, even during the pandemic years, and are associated with benefits, deferrals and other changes in the tax system during that period.
These funds will be distributed to the budget later in the year as obligations are formed. One of the top federal officials explained that it is not entirely correct to compare this year’s budget performance report with the previous one, but there is “less reason to dramatize the current budget deficit.”
According to the Treasury, in January-April, the consolidated budget deficit amounted to 1.7 trillion rubles. The federal budget was executed in January-May with a deficit of 3.7 trillion rubles.
