Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor on Monday (26). The chip was designed to meet the needs of the most basic smartphone users. and promises effortless multitasking.
According to Matthew Lopatka, the brand’s director of product management, Snapdragon chips meet the demands of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and industry. Consumers will also have access to the new processor.
“With this cross-generational advancement in the Snapdragon 4 series, consumers have greater access to the most popular and relevant mobile features and capabilities. We’re optimizing every aspect of the platform to maximize their user experience.”
Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 updates include better performance, increased battery life and overall platform efficiency. It also provides sharper photos and videos, electronic image stabilization and faster autofocus.
In addition, the processor includes artificial intelligence (AI) enhancements, including noise cancellation in calls and video calls. Finally, powered by Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF system, The chip offers support for more networks, frequencies, and bandwidths globally, plus more connectivity with Qualcomm Wi-Fi 5..
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 should start to be a part of smartphones launching in the second half of 2023. Brands that will use it: Redmi from Xiaomi and Vivo, another Chinese manufacturer.
