The number of phishing sites disguised as Russian marketplaces grew 11 times in the first half of 2023, according to the Coordination Center for .ru/.рф domains.
In January-June 2023, 18,000 phishing sites were blocked in the .ru and .rf zones. This is more than in the whole of 2022, when 13.5 thousand resources were blocked.
In total, scammers are going to fake Avito (2.9 detected domains were detected and blocked), Yulu (1.7 thousand domains) and Ozon (1.5 detected domains.)
Mostly fake sites are used for fake sales and money theft when the user enters his card details himself, after which she uses the media. Links to fishing sites are usually distributed in instant messengers.
The websites themselves are stalked automatically using phishing panels. Renting such a panel costs €150 or 14,000 rubles a week, buying €350 or 32 collected rubles. [Коммерсантъ]
