Sales of flagship smartphones from Apple and Samsung in unit terms fell to 25%, in monetary terms they occupy about 50%. This is comparable to the state of the market in 2013, Vedomosti reported with reference to a representative of M.Video-Eldorado.
Apple and Samsung flagships are being replaced by Chinese smartphones, whose share of sales is “growing rapidly.” In parts, they now account for “just over 70%” of the entire smartphone market.
Representatives of the online retailer Ozone and the retail operators Beeline and Tele2 provided approximately the same data on the sales of smartphones of these two brands compared to other brands.
Mikhail Burmistrov, General Director of Infoline-Analytics, noted that smartphones from Apple and Samsung differ not so much from Chinese brands in terms of characteristics as in terms of price, so Russians prefer not to save, but to make a choice more pragmatics in favor of democratic prices and a better relationship between cost and consumer properties.
