Half of the parents in Russia expressed their willingness to take parental leave, the survey showed. Only a third of the respondents believe that this is a “women’s” business: the majority of men who are not ready to take maternity leave explain their decision with financial considerations.
45% of parents in Russia are ready to go on maternity leave. This is stated in the results of a survey of the research holding “Romir”.
Every second male parent who already has at least one child expressed their willingness to take maternity leave in the event of the birth of another child.
51% of the men surveyed are not prepared to take maternity leave; most of them explain this with economic considerations. One in three believe that caring for a child is a “women’s business”, about the same number admitting that they could not provide the child with adequate care.
Romir conducted a survey between May and June of this year among more than a thousand parents from all regions of Russia.
