Kinopoisk will become a co-investor and distributor of a new film by British director Guy Ritchie. Four sources told the Bulletin of the Film Distributor about this. According to them, the cost of investments is estimated at $ 10 million. The online cinema itself refuses to comment.
The future tape has not yet received a name. It will involve Henry Cavill, known for his superhero roles in DC Studio movies, Jake Gyllenhaal, who has already worked with Ritchie, and Mexican actress Eiza González.
According to the publication’s sources, Kinopoisk’s investments will be aimed not only at the production of the film, but also at rights in Eastern European markets. Work on the film should start in the summer, shooting will take place in Spain.
According to the synopsis, the film, in the director’s characteristic style, will tell the story of two emergency evacuation specialists who need to save a high-ranking negotiator. Guy Ritchie is the writer and producer. Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg will co-produce.
According to the publication, the name of the general director of Yandex.Studio and content director of Yandex media services (owner of an online cinema) Olga Filipuk has already appeared more than once in the credits of the British director. For example, she is listed as a producer on the 2022 action drama The Translator.
Also on the yet to be released film, The Ministry of Ungentleman’s War, Filipuk serves as an executive producer.
