Sber has connected smartphone payments through the Tinkoff Pay service in stores that accept payments using Sberbank QR codes, the credit institution said in a statement.
The service works on both Android and iOS smartphones.
Users of the Tinkoff mobile application will be able to pay for purchases using the Sberbank QR code with a smartphone, as well as receive cashback. A QR code can be in the form of a sticker on a sales counter, or it can be displayed on the screen of a POS terminal. Now there are already more than 1.4 million terminals of this type throughout the country.
To pay, you must scan the QR code with your phone’s camera and select Tinkoff Pay, or through the app and then confirm payment. When paying with Tinkoff Pay using a Sber QR code, Tinkoff customers will receive cash back in the same amount as with a card.
