Most Russians do not want to pay in stores using a biometric payment system, showed a survey by the SuperJob service, which was attended by 1.6 thousand people.

Eight out of ten Russians are not willing to pay with their “face” at store checkouts: survey

8 out of 10 people (81%) are not prepared to pay “face”, smiling at the camera at the checkout. Among the arguments is the lack of confidence in the security of your bank account, as well as the unwillingness to provide biometric data.

Men more often (83% vs. 79% of women) say they are not ready for this payment method. There are more respondents between the ages of 35 and 44 (83%) against the use of biometrics for banking transactions.

In early June, it became known about Sberbank’s plans to begin the mass introduction of payment by biometrics in stores. The credit organization launches the replication of a new network of terminals.
