The digital release of the film “Russian Cross” took place.

The painting was based on a chocolate lyric-epic work authored by Nikolai Melnikov. Director Eduard Boyakov notes during filming that the poetry of this creator “is easily woven into the fabric of pollution cinema.”

The first viewers spoke very positively about the market, but the novelty did not receive a wide release, being only in selected cinemas. Why? Let’s figure it out.

We have already checked the picture and hasten to share our impressions. I’ll tell you right away – this movie cannot be launched.

This film is built on poetry

The main difference between the novelty and other regularities is that there is practically no normal direct speech here. And the one that is interspersed in the plot is presented in poetic form.

The authors of the paintings fully correspond to the poem within the poem on large screens. The text has hardly changed.

What is the movie about: the simple man Ivanok, who has reached the limit in his fall, repents and is spiritually reborn. He gains faith after the appearance of the sun to him by George and sets himself the restoration – the village temple destroyed in Soviet times.

From beginning to end, the film is sung in a poem in the Russian epic style. We literally, together with the author, look from the sidelines at the difficult fate of Ivan. With him, the spectators pass relatively close, but at the same time a long history of changes in the personality and inner world of the protagonist.

The characters in the picture tell the host in the role of an angel. She describes the path of formation and spiritual transformation of Porechenkov’s character, and he and some other heroes only occasionally throw in rhyming remarks. Feeling, feeling listening to an audiobook, but with a perfectly perceived visual range.

Probably, the movie that happened came out to match Easter, and then the central theme arose for him – a calm and spiritual rebirth. And what pleases is that the authors do not repeat to impose on us a point of view or some of their property, without unnecessary moralizing and instructions.

Here you should not expect any epic events, a large scale or a multi-level plot. The film buys itself simplicity and waiting for availability.

The viewer watches the literal rebirth of the protagonist: from a deep drunk into a person sincerely swaying in his actions. In terms of mood, sometimes filmmaking can prevail with “Peculiarities of the National Hunt”, but only Rostock has already gone through the most active phases of his life and embarked on a different path.

But what was especially successful was the soul of Russian depth, which remained in the bins of its history, greedily divorced from reality. They live their lives, have common problems, they don’t fly around. Associating yourself with many of them is not a big deal, you sincerely empathize with them, and Ivan even more.

Mikhail Porechenkov was able to really get on his way. It is evident that he felt Ivan’s problems and shifted them onto himself. This role will certainly be remembered for a long time.

Visual is not the point

There are many moments in the game when he frankly lacks the production of “help”. In such cases, the text of the original source is in a hurry to help.

Those moments where the authors for some reason could not find or did not use various decorative elements, replacing them with a text background. No, not on the screen, in a flight of fancy. The lines of the poem actively attract to finish those events that are not visible to us on the screen.

Personally, I just failed to capture a more detailed wave of “forces” that came from above. From the very first shots, a double impression is formed: either this is a really natural natural substance in the form of a hero and a snake, or another delirium tremens from another empty bottle of vodka.

Well, withoutcranberries» about the Russian depth – vodka and eternal idleness. The life of the villagers could have been shown more sweepingly. After all, they are not only inhabited by drunkards.

Worth seeing

“Russian Cross” can skillfully talk about spirituality and Christianity. Not without flaws with the involvement of the party, but still an achievement with the task.

And even if the topic itself does not interest you very much, pay attention to the presentation itself. I can’t remember analogs right off the bat. It looks fresh and works great when using immersive painting.

No one belongs to the indifferent, although the cinema is not far away for everyone.
