As of July 6, the Italian Visa Application Center in Moscow stopped accepting documents from residents of Russian regions who have a temporary registration in Moscow.
“Only applicants with permanent registration in Moscow or the Moscow region (passport stamp) can apply for a visa in Moscow,” the notice on the visa center website says.
At the same time, registered citizens of St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Pskov, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Veliky Novgorod, the corresponding regions and the Republic of Karelia must submit an application with documents at the Italian Visa Application Center in St. Petersburg.
Those who have a different region indicated on their passport should contact Almaviva. Its branches are located in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg.
In early July, the Italian Visa Application Center warned that the processing time for visa applications could be as long as 30 days.
According to the Association of Tour Operators, Spain and Italy issued the most Schengen visas to Russians last year.
